I was elated when I heard
news of Dior's release of their Spring 2013 makeup collection from BestThingsInBeauty. After seeing the
swatches of the Chérie Bow Blush, I knew I had to have it. Prior to rushing out
the door and hauling it to the mall, I checked-out a post from Sandra of 15StepsThenABeautyBlog.
Sandra, who had just posted about her love for one of the new lipsticks in
the collection, #436/ #457 Candide, is the enabler of this purchase. That
was it.. all it took.. sold.
** Some posts are
showing this same shade as #436 Candide and some are showing #457 Candide..
mine is #457. I'm not sure if this has something to do with different
countries?...Keep that in mind if you find yourself needing this lippie.
From the collection I
decided to pick up the Chérie Bow Blush in #729 Dior Pink Happiness and
the Dior Addict Lipstick in #457 Candide.
Dior Pink Happiness is the
perfect medium pink. It really livens up the complexion to a nice flush. The
blush is divided into two parts; one the medium pink semi-matte blusher, and
the other a shimmery version of the same pink. When combined they make a
slightly sheeny beautifully natural blush.
If you run at the faintest
whisper of the word “shimmer”, don't be alarmed! The effect this blush gives
the complexion is more of a sheen and not that of a...shimmery glitter ball, if
you will. This blusher would suit most skin tones and types, and be appropriate
for all ages. It can easily be built up to compliment the deepest of skin tones
as well as applied with a light hand to add glow to those of us with
porcelain skin.
Candide is a great
neutral, sheer, glossy pink that will look amazing on most skin tones. It's the
perfect spring pink. The formula of
Dior Addicts reminds me of a glossier version of my beloved Chanel Rouge
Coco Shines... and Maybelline Color Whispers (previous post), but it's slightly
more pigmented. It lasted about 3 hours on me before needing to be reapplied.
I think both of these
products would be great additions to anyone’s makeup bag. If I had to choose
one I would say the lipstick is a must but the blush.. I'm sure you could find
less expensive dupes for, but hey... it's Dior.
Have
you tried any pieces from the collection?
