About Me

Welcome to my blog!

This is my first post on my brand new blog, and I am so excited to begin this new chapter in my life. I will be blogging about beauty and fashion, home décor, and my life. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I am enjoying creating it. Please feel free to leave a comment below... It would make my day :)

So, as my first post, I'm going to properly introduce myself to you all and show you the girl behind SayItSamanthaB.

As you may have hopefully guessed already, my name is Samantha. I’m a Texan (mom made sure of that) who migrated south to our country’s boot… Louisiana. Bienvenue en Louisianne! My family and I have lived here in the South for 22 years, and we are proud to call it home. I have an amazing mom and dad and don’t know where or what I would be without them. They have loved me unconditionally through all things, even when I probably didn’t deserve it. I always picture them as a rock and a river. Dad is solid like the rock, quiet, unmoved, and strong. Mom, the river, is flowing with life, ever changing, and peaceful. I’m so glad I’m the product of an amazing love affair! My younger sister, Sarah, is my sunshine. She is and always will be my very best friend in the entire world! We speak our own language… and no one gets us hahahaaa!
Dad, Mom and myself... Who do I look like?

I married my high school sweetheart and best friend in November of 2009. We had a small, intimate (parents, grand parents, and siblings) ceremony at a little café. I had always dreamt of having a big wedding with a 200-person guest list, 5 bridesmaids, and a big party. Instead, we had a 35-person guest list, 1 maid of honor, and an intimate dinner followed by a dance. I wouldn’t change a thing…. It was PERFECT!

Honeymoon in New Mexico

Trey is a specialist in the United States Army and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He deployed to Baghdad, Iraq 3 months after we were married. It was the scariest and most emotion filled time of my life. I am so unbelievably proud of him. A BIG THANK YOU to all our service members… you truly do not get paid enough for all that you sacrifice for us!

Treys return home was an amazing day for our entire family. It was the first time I could touch him in months and hear his voice clearly. Communication via Skype and shotty cell phones don’t compare to the real deal in the flesh. It was a good day. A year ago we purchased our first home… there’s always a project underway. It’s a real fixer upper.
He's HOME!!.. he hadn't slept in over 48 hours.

The Fab 5

I graduated from college with a baccalaureate degree in Liberal Arts and Communications and began taking pre-graduate coursework for the Speech-Pathology Masters program at a school in Texas. After completing a year of pre-graduate classes, I received my acceptance letter into the Speech Language Pathology graduate program. It was an amazing day! Today, after 3 years of extremely hard work, I am 4 months away from graduation! I will soon be a bonafide SLP (Speech Language Pathologist). I can hardly wait!

Oh, and how could I forget…Trey and I adopted a Weimaraner pup named Bleu. He had such a tragic story that spoke to our hearts and we couldn’t pass him up. He has truly added laughter, joy, love... and craziness to our home.

I hope this gave you a little insight on who I am. I have dreamt of creating this space to share my beauty, fashion, home, and life tips and experiences with the world. It was my new years resolution to make change and do things I’ve always wanted to do… so here we go!

I hope you tag along for the journey… It’s sure to be a fun ride!
